Sodium Hyaluronate

Your body naturally produces a compound called hyaluronic acid that can attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water and it plays a big role when it comes to keeping all kinds of cells hydrated and healthy. The commercial ingredient, made by fermenting sugar, isn’t very easily absorbed into the skin, so the magic (i.e. science) of chemistry steps in to help. Sodium hyaluronate is derived from hyaluronate and it’s a salt form that’s easier for your skin to soak up, so it can penetrate deeper into the skin where it attracts and holds water.
