Gluconolactone

Gluconolactone belongs to a group of acids known as PHAs, poly-hydroxy acids and it’s naturally produced by the bodies of mammals. Commercially, it’s made from corn and is known as one of the gentlest exfoliators out there to help improve skin tone and texture and wipe out the dead cells that normally leave your complexion dull and lackluster (two words we don’t want anyone using to describe our skin or our personalities). Because of its molecular structure, it’s also a humectant – AKA an ingredient that attracts moisture to the skin.

Quillaja Saponaria Bark Extract

Quillaja Saponaria (aka ‘the soap bark tree’) is a tree whose inner bark can be broken down into a powder and used as a substitute for soap (thus, the name) because it creates a lather when mixed with water. It also has a long history of medicinal use with the Andean people in Chile where the tree originates. Today, the extract is used in skin care products as a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. And, like a true Giving Tree, the bark for the extract is typically obtained through regular pruning that actually improves the forest without killing the trees or damaging the ecosystem.

Squalane (Olive Derived)

Squalane is a plant-based form of squalene, an oil that’s naturally created by your body to help lubricate and protect your skin. No surprise, it’s highly compatible with your skin and slips seamlessly into the spaces between cells to help smooth and moisturize. Plus, it’s very high in antioxidants to help repair your skin.

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract

Coconut fruit extract is the lesser known (but equally amazing) sister of coconut oil. The latter comes from the kernel of the coconut and the former from the meat (the white part we eat, which is vegan, but called “meat” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). It’s a highly absorbent, vitalizing, and nourishing extract, which means your skin drinks it up quickly and then revels in its benefits.

Ethylhexylglycerin

Ethylhexylglycerin is a plant-derived preservative (killing risky pathogens) that also functions as a surfactant (cleanser), a deodorizing agent (inhibiting the growth of stinky bacteria), and a skin-conditioning (hydrating, softening) agent in personal care products. It can also reduce tackiness and greasiness, as well as increase speed of penetration. It’s a real overachiever – and there’s nothing wrong with that (as long as you also practice self-care).

I have tried many face washes that turned out to be mediocre that is not the case with this one. My face feels clean, light and refreshed after each wash. Thank you.

I have never tried this type of facial cleanser before and I love it. Easy to apply and when I rinse it off I can see the difference in how clean my face feels and how it removes dirt from my pores.
